Kikstart Inc. provides needy families in our community with boxes of food. Participants may receive a food box every two weeks. We will also provide recipients additional help if our food boxes are not sufficient for their needs. Food boxes are distributed by appointment only.
This program is designed to serve hungry children healthy FREE meals during the summer. This program is federally funded child nutrition program which was established to ensure that low-income children, ages 18 and younger, continue to have an opportunity to receive nutritious meals when school in not in session.
Our Christmas program provides families in the community with gifts for their children. Individuals may sign up as a family in need for the Christmas season. To qualify for the program individuals must bring in proof of their income, proof of address and evidence of parent/guardianship of kids. Qualifying families are low-income based. We collect donated items and funds from the community to provide this assistance.
With this program, families can sign up for a Thanksgiving meal food box. To qualify for the program individuals must bring in proof of their income, proof of address and proof of family size. Qualifying families are low-income based upon the information form the Department of Economic Services. Families are selected based upon their evidence of need.
Our after-school program is for any youth who needs assistance with their schoolwork. Through this program, we will provide tutoring, mentorship and after school activities to keep youth occupied. This program is designed for kids as 7 and as old as 17, but they must be registered in school to be eligible. The program runs Monday through Friday form 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Our back to school drive provides necessary items to students free of charge. Items that we provide include, Backpacks, pencils, pens, notebooks ect.
We work with The Area Agency on Aging to respond to the needs of older adults. As a private non-profit organization, Kikstart plans, coordinates, develops and delivers services for our seniors (60 years and older) and persons of any age who with disabilities and long-term care needs.
The Congregate Meal Program provides nutritional meals daily in a social environment. We work with city's like El Mirage to provide lunch to the elderly served Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. Lunch participants must be 55 years of age or older.
