Our COVID-19 Efforts
Kikstart has been the engine behind numerous programs; but the one that stands out to us the most is our work during the pandemic. Many children relied on their schools’ free lunch programs, and because of COVID-19 they were not able to attend school and didn’t have meals to eat. We created multiple food sites around Jefferson County in Birmingham, AL, and provided over 2 MILLION MEALS since the start of the pandemic in 2019. Today we partner with over 20 organizations, churches, and city officials to serve thousands of nutritious meals each month.
